Elmira Marie Lagattuta

	Elmira Marie Lagattuta, 88, of Chicago, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2003 at Our Lady of the Resurrection Hospital in Chicago.
	Elmira was born December 23, 1914 in Perry County, the daughter of W. Everett and Emma (Krone) Thompson.  She was united in marriage September 13, 1944 to Ben S. Lagattuta of Chicago and he preceded her in death in 1992.  She was a homemaker and a very active member of the St. Sebastian Altar and Rosary Society for many years.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and returning to Perry County regularly for visits with family and friends.
	She is survived by one daughter, Angeline C. (the late Gary) Anderson; two grandchildren, Cynthia M. (Nick) Durso and Scott M. Anderson; two great-grandchildren, Nicole and Emily Durso, all of the Chicago area and one brother, Kenneth (the late Jean) Thompson of Tamaroa.
	She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and two sisters, Helen Queen of Tamaroa and E. Lucille Tunica of St. Louis, Mo.
	Funeral Mass was said by Fr. Jason Malave on Wednesday, July 23 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Chicago.  Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery of River Grove.
	Visitation was held Tuesday, July 22 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Jaeger Funeral Home of Chicago with Doug Jaeger officiating and again on Wednesday morning for one hour prior to the Mass.
